MuCEM - Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations

Located in the heart of Marseille, the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (MuCEM) aspires to become a multidisciplinary meeting point where human sciences and art as well religion, history, geopolitics, and cultural belonging will find a unique place of expression. MuCEM will explore links between Europe and Mediterranean countries through its many exhibitions and events.

In 2010, Lord Cultural Resources was engaged to conduct a visitor experience study. Lord conducted research, developed attendance projections, and defined a strategy to integrate the museum with other cultural aspects of Marseille, identified partners, and developed a plan to attract local, national and international audiences.

MuCEM was inaugurated on June 7, 2013 as part of the Marseille-Provence 2013 event that celebrated the City’s designation as the European Capital of Culture.
