Rockford Arts Area Council

In early 2023, The Rockford Area Arts Council (RAAC) hired Lord Cultural Resources to facilitate a cultural plan for the Rockford Region (Winnebago and Boone Counties). Our three-phased planning process involved gathering data and conducting analysis to identify the opportunities and challenges facing the arts and culture sector in the Rockford region; robust and inclusive public engagement; and the development of a vision for the future of the arts in the Rockford Region.

As a result of our cultural planning work, Rockford’s City Council voted to fund $200K towards public art including the refurbishment of a Rockford founders’ statue that was long in storage which portrays a multi-racial coalition of founders.
