Juno Beach Centre Association

The Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France is the only institution on the Normandy beaches that commemorates the Canadian contribution to the Second World War effort and the only one that represents an entire nation.

The Juno Beach Centre is unique in many ways.  It is located on the Juno Beach D-Day landing site, a site of national and international historic significance where Canadians landed, fought and died. 

The 10th anniversary of the opening of the Juno Beach Centre was an opportunity for reflection and renewal.  Anticipating this milestone, the Juno Beach Centre Association engaged Lord Cultural Resources to review and provide options for updating two of the Centre’s galleries, including a reconceptualization of the current Resource Centre into a gallery space and updating the concluding “Canada Today” gallery. Emphasizing the importance of connecting with current and future local and international audiences, we recommended a film experience for the current Resource Centre. Additionally, we reviewed the current temporary exhibition programme and developed a strategy that will address the issues relating to the programme that have emerged over the past decade and which affect the programme’s operation currently.
