Eve Moros Ortega, Director spent an afternoon exploring the Flight Into Egypt exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, on until February 17th.

“I loved the range of media in the show, from paintings and sculpture to album covers and music videos. It presented a wonderfully broad spectrum of the different ways that Black artists find expression and inspiration from Egypt.”

To start the month off, we’ll hand it over to our President and Managing Partner Joy Bailey-Bryant, to share her experience of attending the Beloved Community Awards at The King Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  

"It was a gathering of beautiful universal and Black excellence and it was truly amazing to share space with some of the most positive humans making changes across the globe."  

All throughout February, our team will be exploring cultural spaces – big and small - that illuminate the stories of Black communities year-round. We’ll be highlighting individuals and organizations that educate, celebrate and honor the pivotal events, movements and achievements of Black people throughout history and today.

Since 1992, Kathleen Brown has been an integral part of Lord’s mission to make the world a better place through culture. In 1992, she founded the U.S. offices of Lord Cultural Resources, and in 2015, she returned to Toronto, first as Director of Business Development, then COO, and then as Senior Practice Leader.
