Project Experience

Zayed National Museum

2006-08

Lord Cultural Resources was engaged by Abu Dhabi Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) to develop the Master Plan for the Sheikh Zayed National Museum (now Zayed National Museum) that would celebrate the heritage of the United Arab Emirates as well as the extraordinary man who made it possible. The Museum will include a Presidential Library, Exhibition Centre and Falconry. It will be the “crown jewel” on Saadiyat Island which will host leading new cultural institutions, including a Maritime Museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi (Classical Art Museum) and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

Lord Cultural Resources conducted the architectural competition which resulted in the naming of London based architects Norman Foster + Partners.  Our Master Plan then served as the basis for the exhibition design competition.

The Museum is currently under construction. Lord continues to advise and support the museum as they prepare for opening.
