Project Experience
Musée d’art contemporain (MAC) de Montréal
The Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art engaged Lord Cultural Resources to develop a business plan and projections associated with a modest expansion and substantial transformation. The transformation will enable a greater level of visibility and easier access to the main entrance and to convert current collections storage to exhibition space. Other spaces have been redesigned to show contemporary art, including lobby and circulation spaces. The transformation will also add or modify other spaces for enhanced public and educational programming and revenue generation.
In a testimonial letter to Lord Cultural Resources Yves Théoret, Director, Operations and Administration, described our work as “superlative” and also wrote that “the Business Plan and Projections will be instrumental in supporting our business case for expansion with governmental authorities and other key stakeholders.” The Museum reopened in the fall of 2021 with a partial transformation. Additional investment from federal, provincial and private sources is enabling implementation of the second phase of the expansion and transformation in 2023.
