Project Experience
Shang Dynasty Yinxu Museum
The capital city of the Shang Dynasty (1600–1046 BC) was located in Yinxu, now known as Anyang City for two and half centuries and is considered to be the cradle of Chinese Civilization. Yinxu occupied about 30 square kilometers, large portions of which are now a National Protected Heritage Site. The site contains a palace-temple complex, residences, workshops and cemeteries. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in China, due to the richness of the collections, incredible bronzes, jades and oracle bones, which are the beginning of Chinese writing and documented history. Lord Cultural Resources was engaged to prepare the interpretive plan and exhibition design for the new Yinxu Museum, which is located within the heritage site, along the banks of the river. Our partner company Sino-Lord International Culture Development Ltd. in Beijing fabricated and installed the exhibitions. The exhibitions tell the story of the Shang Dynasty and return the original artifacts to the site, presented in a new building, and displayed in exhibitions that meet world-class standards. The Yinxu site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
